The City of Des Plaines is one of the larger GIS Consortium communities. Although there are local instances of communities this size that fully staff GIS programs with a manager, developer and technicians, the City’s staffing cost is significantly reduced within the GIS Consortium.  This reduced cost comes without a reduction in the ability to provide advanced GIS solutions.
