The Village of Wilmette is the 32nd member community of the GIS Consortium. Wilmette has a strong history of spatial information gathering and utilization. However, a stable and established GIS staffing solution was identified as a need in order to create an all-department benefit. Wilmette also recognized the benefits of regional geospatial data sharing and cooperation with its Consortium neighbors.
